Clinical Duties:
The post-holder will be expected to liaise with the multiagency services involved with the children in their patch and work closely with statutory and voluntary agencies. Provide specialist clinical input for children who are considered to be vulnerable or in special circumstances, and those with Special Education needs Participate in the rapid response to unexpected child deaths. Travel as necessary between hospitals/clinics will be required but a planned and cost effective approach will be expected. Assist where needed in the investigation of child sexual abuse. The post holder will be required to provide supervision and guidance for junior colleagues and medical students, and provide support to Health Visitors, School Nurses, and other Agency staff if deemed appropriate Attend policy review meetings to discuss changes required to improve child health services for the local community, and participate in the On call rota where required

Person Specification:
Specialist registration with the GMC (or eligible for Specialist registration) MBChB or equivalent Postgraduate qualification and significant experience thereafter in the specialty mentioned Completion of basic & higher training Experience in teaching and audits Leadership and Management skills
