Duties and responsibilities:
Conducting daily ward rounds in the Children's Ward and in the Special Care Unit.
The Consultant would complement the existing  team and participate in the current rota
Involvement in clinical governance and management
Support the junior doctors and liaise closely with the nursing staff
Assisting in and contributing to Paediatric outpatient clinics, ward rounds, departmental meetings as required
Support outpatient clinics and contribute to the provision of a comprehensive efficient paediatric service
Provide evidence based care for all patients within their sphere of responsibility.
Liaise effectively with the General Practitioners, Community Services and all other health care agencies as required
Teaching, supervision and development of Junior medical and non-medical staff
Contribute to audits and ongoing research activity

Person Specification:
MBBS or equivalent
MD / DCH in Paediatrics
MRCPCh / FRCPSych or equivalent
Minimum 7 years full time post graduate experience
Minimum of 2 years continuous General paediatrics experience including neonatology
Consultant level experience
GMC registration (or eligible to secure GMC registration)
Efficiency in Teamwork and superior communication skills
Leadership and Management skills
