Duties:
Working on the Acute Medical Unit and lead the multi-professional team in the management of the acute medical patients.
To review all patients on the Acute Medical Unit to expedite appropriate further management during the first day of admission, and twice daily thereafter until discharge.
To lead ward rounds, direct the management of patients, assess patients, perform practical procedures
Participate in the management and administration of the service and liaise with other professionals both within and outside the trust as required.
Clinical and administrative responsibility for the proper functioning of the Emergency Assessment Unit
Teaching, supervision and development of Junior medical and non-medical staff
Contribute to audits and ongoing research activity


Person Specification:
MBBS or equivalent
MD / DNB in Medicine
MRCP / FRCP or equivalent
Minimum 7 years full time post graduate experience
Minimum of 2 years continuous General / Internal / Acute Medicine
Consultant level experience
GMC registration (or eligible to secure GMC registration)
Efficiency in Teamwork and superior communication skills
Leadership and Management skills
